Cookies notice

This notice explains what cookies and similar technologies Westford Lane uses on westfordlane.com, what they are for, and how you can control them. It is written to satisfy the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, both supervised by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

1. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies allow a site to remember things, for example, that you have already confirmed your age, or that you have stated a preference about analytics. Some cookies are essential to the operation of the site, others are optional.

2. Essential cookies and local storage

The following are required for the site to work and are set without consent because they are strictly necessary under PECR Reg. 6(4)(b):

  • age_ok — written to your browser's local storage when you confirm you are aged 18 or over. Used to avoid showing the age gate on every subsequent page load. Retained until cleared by you.
  • cookies_consent — written to your browser's local storage when you accept or reject the optional cookies. Used to avoid showing the cookie banner on every subsequent page load. Retained until cleared by you.

3. Optional analytics cookies

If, and only if, you click Accept all in the cookie banner, we set a small number of analytics cookies that record aggregated, non-identifying interaction events (page views, scroll depth, outbound link clicks). These are used to understand which reviews are read and which need improvement. You can refuse them by clicking Reject optional; the site will continue to work normally.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, social-network cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. How to withdraw consent

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data for westfordlane.com in your browser settings. The cookie banner will then reappear on your next visit and you can make a fresh choice.

You can also block or delete cookies entirely from within your browser:

  • Chrome, Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari, Settings → Privacy.
  • Firefox, Settings → Privacy & Security.
  • Edge, Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

5. Third-party content

Outbound links to operator websites are plain links, clicking one navigates your browser to the operator's domain in a new tab. The operator's own cookies notice applies from that point. We do not embed third-party trackers, social-network widgets, video players or commenting systems on this site.

6. Changes to this notice

If we materially change our use of cookies we will update the revision date at the top of this page. For complaints, contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
